International Border Awareness and Watchouts This publication from the Borderlands Management Task Force, an interagency group which includes, among others, the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management and the National Park Service, warns employees of risks present in their work environment.  For more information on the Task Force, see the FCC newsletter, issue 5.

Driessen, USDA Forest Service, Missoula Technology and Development Center, Missoula, MT, 2006.  The Borderlands Management Task Force in partnership with the Forest Service completed this assessment of the unique problems faced by public land-management field employees working along the Mexican border. Two training DVDs are being filmed for employees: "Personal Safety in Remote Work Locations: Working on the Border" and "Personal Safety in Remote Work Locations: Managing Unexpected Encounters on the Border."
