Case Description

On March 15, 2004, a fire broke out at the Thermo Fluids oil recycling facility in Portland, Oregon. The fire resulted in the release of approximately 1,000 gallons of used motor oil, 700 gallons of sulfuric acid and 100 gallons of sodium hydroxide into Johnson Creek, a tributary to the Willamette River.
