Hydraulic Modeling of Ozarks Stream Habitats


Figure 3.3.  Graphs of the areal extent of habitats over the range of modeled discharges.  (A) shows the habitat distribution using the habitat classification scheme that represents field sampled, low flow habitats.  At higher dishcharges, much of the channel area is unclassified because it has depths and velocities that are outside of the field sampling range.  When froude number is used to extrapolate the habitat classification scheme to higher discharges (B), much of this unclassified channel area falls into race and glide habitat categories.
