On or about July 23, 2008, Barge DM932 owned and operated by American Commercial Lines, Inc. (ACL) was struck broadside by the M/V Tintomora. The collision compromised the internal compartment of Barge DM932, causing Barge DM932 to discharge a significant amount of No. 6 fuel oil into the Mississippi River. Natural resources within the Mississippi River were exposed to oil as a result of the Incident and have experienced injury including mortality. The Mississippi River contains natural resources that provide services to the public. Natural resources and services potentially injured or lost as a result of the incident and the associated response effort may include, but are not limited to, shorelines, aquatic organisms, birds, and recreation. The Department of Justice lodged the final CD on October 4, 2021, and the trustees published the final DARP/EA October 20, 2021.
