Case Description

Los Alamos National Laboratory is situated on approximately 27,500 acres (approximately 40 square miles) in north-central New Mexico, approximately 60 miles north of Albuquerque and 25 miles northwest of Santa Fe. Radioactive wastes have been released into the surrounding environment. The Department of the Interior - U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has provided technical information to the Trustee Council for this site, during their evaluation of injury to natural resources.
