Case Description

A Superfund Site located along the Mississippi River shoreline in Riverdale, Scott County, Iowa, released hazardous substances (a variety of inorganic and organic compounds) into the Upper Mississippi River. The injured natural resources included river surface water, aquatic sediments, and aquatic life including mussels, fishes, and aquatic dependent wildlife such as migratory birds that depend on the aquatic life for food and the river for shelter.
