Case Description

Significant PCB contamination has been identified in the Hayton Millpond, an impoundment on the South Branch of the Manitowoc River near Chilton, Wisconsin, and in Pine Creek, a tributary to the Hayton Millpond. The contaminated areas are upstream from the Killsnake State Wildlife Area in Calumet County, Wisconsin, near the towns of Chilton, Hayton, and New Holstein. The Hayton Millpond outlet flows to Lake Michigan by way of the Manitowoc River system.
