Project Description
The ultimate objective of this proposal is to restore and enhance fish and wildlife habitat associated with coastal wetlands of Lower Green Bay, with specific benefits to northern pike, waterfowl, and marsh birds. Project success would be defined as: 1) establishment of coarse woody habitat in Lower Green Bay, 2) a clearer understanding of the potential for use of coarse woody habitat structures for the promotion of vegetation re-establishment in Lower Green Bay, 3) established populations of wild rice, wild celery, and hard-stem bulrush that can serve as source populations for Lower Green Bay, 4) enhanced wetland function and wildlife use on 26 acres at Ken Euers, and 5) establishing a pike spawning marsh.
