Project Description

In March 2018, the United States Department of the Interior, acting through the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) and the State of New York, acting through the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), together the Trustees, settled a natural resource damage claim with the Responsible Parties, Honeywell International Inc. and Onondaga County, New York, for the Onondaga Lake Superfund Site in Onondaga County, New York. The “March 2018 Onondaga Lake Natural Resource Damage Consent Decree” (NRD CD) outlines specific restoration projects currently underway by the responsible party, Honeywell International Inc. The Scopes of Work (SOWs) for these projects are defined in the NRD CD, Appendix C. The Project #18 SOW (Boat Launch Project) required the acquisition and development of a property for use as a public boat launch. The scope-of-work for the Project included the construction of a concrete launch ramp, floating dock, gravel parking area, and an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant platform.
