Project Description
The NYSDEC led project will include educational programming at the Onondaga Lake Visitor Center for five years, including: program supplies and seasonal educators. The goal of the Visitor Center and education programming project is to establish and support a community visitor center to learn about the region’s historical connections to First Nations and their use of traditional knowledge, the industrial legacy which led to significant contamination of Onondaga Lake, the cleanup and current research helping to restore the lake, and the future of the Onondaga Lake watershed and communities that depend on it.
