Acquisition for Public Boat Landing to the Green Bay (251)

The Fox River NRDA Trustees supported approximately 50% of the acquisition of 4.54 acres of land on the shoreline of the Green Bay, which was officially purchased by Brown County on October 27, 2020. Detroit Island Land Acquisition (225)

Detroit Island is one of the islands in the Grand Traverse chain linking the Door Peninsula of Wisconsin to the Garden Peninsula of Michigan. Detroit Island is an elongate (6 km long, 0.2 km wide) island lying just a few hundred yards east of the Washington Island ferry dock. Ken Euers Nature Area (212)

The ultimate objective of this proposal is to restore and enhance fish and wildlife habitat associated with coastal wetlands of Lower Green Bay, with specific benefits to northern pike, waterfowl, and marsh birds. Rush Lake Land Preservation (192)

This project acquired and protected two parcels totaling 221 acres of high quality wetland and associated upland habitat for wildlife species injured by PCBs, including migratory birds. The Kargus and Tews parcels are located in the city of Omro and the township of Nepeuskun, respectively. Winnebago Pools Priority Project (230)

The main objectives of the project are to acquire 160 acres of priority wetlands and associated upland habitat. The Uihlein Waterfowl Production Area is targeted for this effort and DU has negotiated the sale and closed on 160 acres adjacent to Uihlein WPA.

 

Lancaster Brook Large Woody Habitat Enhancement (115 R2)

Lancaster Brook is a small stream in the northern portion of the Oneida Reservation that had become degraded due to residential development and agricultural activities in the watershed.
