Project Description

The Chemical Leaman Tank Lines Trustees provided funding to the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) to acquire a 20.7 acre property abutting Fort Mott State Park in Pennsville, NJ. The property includes a large field formerly used for agriculture and forest edge habitat. This acquisition benefits migratory birds, including waterfowl, raptors, and passerines, by preserving foraging habitat near the Delaware River. After the land was purchased and protected in perpetuity, it was transferred to the NJ Division of Parks and Forestry (NJDPF) and became a part of Fort Mott State Park.
